A Jamestown man is facing felony charges after police say he was parked in a car, and had a loaded handgun within grabbing distance of four children.

Officers say they first noticed Shanis Garcia-Guzman parked on the wrong side of the road at the intersection of Prendergast Avenue and Crossman Street. When they started a traffic stop, police say they noticed Garcia-Guzman had a hypodermic needle and a small amount of heroin, and marijuana.

Police say they also found a 9mm handgun, which they later found out was stolen.

He now faces charges for criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
