A friend who came to pick up an alleged drunk driver from the sheriff’s office was arrested after deputies say they discovered that she, too, was drunk.

Around 1:30am Tuesday morning, deputies pulled over Nancy Scott on Buffalo Road in Irving. The 47-year-old Gowanda resident was reportedly intoxicated and had marijuana in her possession.

Deputies arrested Scott and charged her with DWI, unlawful possession of marijuana, failure to keep right and moving from lane unsafely. She was held at the sheriff’s office and was set to be released to a sober third party, but deputies say the woman who showed up was also drunk.

The woman, 28-year-old Shawna Jamison of Versailles, came to the sheriff’s office and parked in a handicapped parking space. Deputies noticed she didn’t have a handicap tag and went to speak with her. That’s when they say they found she was intoxicated.

Jamison was arrested and charged with DWI, third degree aggravated unlicensed operator and parking in a handicap space illegally.

This time, the sober third party who came to the sheriff’s office was indeed sober, and deputies released Scott and Jamison.
