A woman who allegedly beat her boyfriend to death inside his home in Cheektowaga is set to be arraigned Friday morning.
Debra Haynes-Thomas, 47, of Buffalo is facing a charge of second degree murder. Officers were called to a home on Princess Drive last November to check on the welfare of the resident and they found 56-year-old Peter Wiepert dead inside.
An autopsy determined Wiepert died of blunt force trauma. Cheektowaga Police say they believe Wiepert and Haynes-Thomas had a domestic relationship that "went sour."
Haynes-Thomas was taken into custody at a hotel in Monroe County a few days after the Wiepert's body was found. Police say she needed medical attention and was initially taken to Strong Memorial Hospital but was later taken to the Erie County Holding Center.
