Scammers threaten arrest over missed jury duty

Police in Niagara County are warning of a scam, targeting not only your wallet, but your civil duties.

Lewiston police say several people were called, Wednesday, explained they missed jury duty in Federal Court in Downtown Buffalo.

As a result, these scammers said the victim had pay nearly $2,000 in fines.  If they didn't pay by money order, the caller threatened to have them arrested.

Police say calls are coming from two phone numbers: 286-5488 and 284-5488.
