A traffic stop over the weekend turned into a low speed chase and ended with a crash and foot pursuit.

Cuba Police say around 1 a.m., they tried to pull over Kyle Wesley of Portville on Rt. 305, but Wesley refused to stop. Officers say he led them on a low speed chase, driving his truck through several yards, damaging mailboxes and shrubbery.

Police say Wesley hit a telephone pole and then continued to drive on Rt. 305 before losing a wheel and coming to rest in a ditch. After that, he fled on foot and officers say it took two Taser deployments to take him into custody.

Wesley is charged with DWI, resisting arrest, failure to comply with an emergency vehicle and two counts each of failing to keep right, failing to stop at a stop sign, and leaving the scene of an accident.

He was taken to the Allegany County Jail on $5,000 bail.
