Police chief arrested for selling drugs

The police chief of a Cattaraugus County village is facing illegal drug sale charges following an investigation by the New York State Police.

Ronald Brisbee, 52, the Officer-In-Charge of the Village of Portville Police Department, is accused of illegally providing painkillers to another person while on duty as a police officer.

Brisbee has been charged with fifth degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance and official misconduct.

Portville Village officials have placed Brisbee on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal case.
