Bullet casings led to Niagara Wheatfield lockout

A lockout has been been lifted in the Niagara Wheatfield School District.

Police and K-9 units were called to the joint High School and Middle School campus after district officials say a student found bullet casings on their car. This happened around 2pm on Thursday, after classes had been dismissed for the day.

All remaining students were sent to the cafeteria as police continued their investigation. Police and district officials say students were never in any danger, however, the investigation is on-going.

As a result of today's events, ninth grade orientation has been canceled for the evening and will be rescheduled for a later date.
