Officers say a 21-year-old man leaving an Orchard Park gym was violently attacked when he came upon a man stealing items out of his parked car.
Police were called around 10 p.m. Thursday to a local medical facility on Southwestern Boulevard where they found the victim, who had suffered severe trauma to his left eye in the assault as well as minor cuts and bruises to his knees and elbows.
The man told officers he had left his vehicle parked on North Lake Drive while he went to the gym with friends and after returning noticed his interior light was on. When he got to his vehicle, the victim told police he saw 24-year-old Joseph Wolch inside with items from his car in his hands.
Police say the victim confronted Wolch, who punched the victim in the eye. The fight was broken up by one of the victim's friends.
Officers went to Wolch's home on North Lake Drive and arrested him for petit larceny, third degree assault, and second degree robbery.
