Authorities say a man killed himself after murdering two college students in a house blocks from the SUNY Geneseo campus.

On Sunday around 6 a.m., Geneseo Police were called to a home on Wadsworth Street where they found the bodies of Kelsey Annese, 21, of Webster, Matthew Hutchinson, 24, of Vancouver, British Columbia and Colin Kingston, 24, of Geneseo in an upstairs bedroom.

Police say Kingston killed Annese, his ex-girlfriend, and Hutchinson before taking his own life. Police say Kingston and Annese had been in a long-term relationship that recently ended and they believe Kingston was distraught.

Annese and Hutchinson were current SUNY Geneseo students and the home where they were killed was where Annese was living while attending the college. Annese played on the women's basketball team and Hutchinson was a member of the men's ice hockey team.

Kingston is a former SUNY Geneseo student.

At a press conference Monday, police said Kingston used a large knife to fatally stab Annese and Hutchinson and then turned it on himself.
