Police in Buffalo are alerting parents after a man approached an 11-year-old boy Sunday morning.
The boy was walking on O’Connell Street near Hamburg around 11:30 a.m. when he was approached by a man driving a white van with ladder racks that had no ladders on it and white curtains on the back window.
The boy said the van pulled up next to him and the man asked the boy if he wanted to earn some money. The boy replied, “No, I’m good.” The man then told the boy that he works on buildings in the Old First Ward and said, “Here, hop in my car.”
The boy continued to walk forward and the van took off down a side street.
The boy described the man as black with a scruffy beard, unknown age, who was wearing a short sleeve, dark-colored polo shirt.
