An Allegany County man is facing charges for allegedly stealing from his girlfriend’s mother, who he was helping to care for while she was suffering from cancer.
Deputies in Livingston County were called to a home in Springwater after a resident told officers money and two valuable diamond rings were missing.
Kyle McAndrew, 22, of Friendship, is the boyfriend of the victim’s daughter and had been staying at the home while the victim underwent cancer treatment.
Deputies determined McAndrew stole the rings and pawned them at a local jewelry store. The victim is out more than $7,000.
McAndrew is charged with fourth degree grand larceny and is being held in the Livingstono County Jail on $5,000 bail.
