An armed man who barricaded himself inside a bedroom with an 8-month-old baby surrendered to police after a nearly four-hour standoff Friday night.
Officers were called to Park Street in Jamestown around 8:45pm on reports of a domestic incident that turned into a man barricaded in a bedroom with a shotgun and an 8-month-old baby. Nearby homes were evacuated as negotiators made contact with the man, who police say was 25-year-old Darin Buvoltz.
After hours of negotiations, Buvoltz broke out a window from the house and turned over the child. Around 12:30am, he surrendered peacefully to officers and was taken into custody.
Buvoltz is charged with criminal mischief, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
The infant was not injured.
