A man is facing charges after being accused of lighting his sleeping roommate on fire.

Police in Albion were called to 431 West State Street, Lot 17 around 5 a.m. Thursday morning on reports that a man had been set on fire.

Frank Carter II, 50, allegedly set his roommate on fire by pouring lighter fluid on the victim while he slept and then setting it ablaze. The victim was able to get out of bed and suffered non-life threatening burns to his hands and feet.

When officers arrived on scene, they say they found Carter in the street holding a knife. He was taken into custody and charged with second degree attempted arson, second degree assault and reckless endangerment of property.

Carter was taken to the Orleans County Jail on $25,000 bail. The victim was taken to Medina Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Police say they have been called to this home in the past for other issues but did not elaborate further.
