Police chase leads to drug charges in Jamestown

Posted

A Jamestown man is facing a slew of charges after a Tuesday arrest.

Police say 41-year-old Donald Dean sped off from a traffic stop.  But it didn't stop there.

After leaving the stop, police say he tried to hit officers with his car and then ran, after he was eventually cornered by the cops.

Dean ditched his car, according to police, near the Red Roof Inn on Falconer Street.

They found out he had been renting a room at the inn and got a search warrant to see what was hidden inside.

Police say the man had a quantity of meth in the room.  They did not say where the meth was manufactured.

Dean is facing possession and attempted assault charges.  He's locked up and is expected in court later Wednesday.
