The driver involved in a hit and run accident in North Buffalo, back in May, will spend six months behind bars.
Carl Nye, III, 30, of Buffalo admitted leaving the scene of an accident after hitting Adam Brown, 52, of Louisiana as he crossed Elmwood Avenue near the LA Fitness gym.
Nye sped off, but due to the quick efforts by the Buffalo Accident Investigation Unit and a tip by a concerned citizen, Nye’s damaged vehicle was found an hour later in South Buffalo where he attempted to hide it.
The victim suffered a severe leg injury and head trauma from the accident. Brown spent several months in a rehab center recovering from those injuries.
After his prison term, Nye will serve five years probation and have to complete 200 hours of community service.
