A couple out for a test drive was injured Thursday night when the SUV they were taking for a spin was struck by an allegedly impaired driver.

Deputies were called to Main Street in the Town of Clarence after the SUV was struck around 8:30pm. Though the driver was unhurt, the car salesman and a female passenger were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the other car, 27-year-old Courtney Loveless of Williamsville, showed signs of impairment, according to deputies, who say a drug recognition expert determined she was impaired by drugs.

Loveless, who was previously convicted in Cheektowaga for DWI by drugs, was charged with felony DWI by drugs. She also has an outstanding warrant in Wyoming County.

Loveless was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending her arraignment.
