Buffalo Police: student jumped during dismissal

A woman and two girls are facing assault charges, they're accused of jumping a female student outside of The Dr. Charles R. Drew Science Magnet School Tuesday afternoon.

Buffalo Police say the three attacked the student in front of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive school during dismissal, around 2:30 p.m. Police recovered a knife from the scene but no one was stabbed.

The Dr. Charles R. Drew Science Magnet School is also known as Buffalo Public School 59. It serves students in grades 3 through 8.

Police say one of the attackers is 18-years-old, but the other two are minors.

All three suspects are charged with Assault in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Menacing in the Second Degree. The 18-year-old and one of the other suspects were also charged with trespassing.
