Police: 16-year-old student threatens high school with explosive

The Albion Police Department responded to threats a 16-year-old male student made to Albion High School.

Police say the threat was made regarding an explosive.

Officers and school officials determined the threat against the school was false and there was no danger to students, staff, or the building. 

Police say the male student was charged with falsely reporting an incident in the first degree. He was taken into custody and arraigned in the Town of Albion Court and released on house arrest. 

He is expected to return to court on October 18th.

Police say the 16-year-old's name is not being released at this time.
