Plows are out actively clearing roads after the snow storm on Thursday.
According to a spokesperson for the Thruway Authority, extra resources were moved to Western New York in anticipation of the storm.
Heavy delays have been reported across the Thruway throughout the day Thursday. The spokesperson says the delays are due to numerous accidents, rush hour traffic and working plows.
The Thruway Authority says safety checks have been conducted to make sure drivers are safe.
Gates were not used because the storm did not heavily impact the metro area, according to the spokesperson.
