New York state is dipping into phase two of the taxpayer-funded Buffalo Billion project to keep the momentum going along the Buffalo waterfront.

The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation approved plans for four projects along the Outer Harbor that are expected to come to fruition over the next few years. The projects include:

  • An urban bike path
  • An 'events lawn' for individual and team sports
  • Two overlook locations
  • Planning for a 115-slip boat marina
  • Boat launches
  • Storage for 300 boats

The ECHDC also approved a construction contract of nearly $4 million to Pinto Construction Services to move forward with the approved plans for new trails and parks at the Outer Harbor.
