A man was arrested in Jamestown Wednesday after an emaciated pit bull was found during a probation home visit.
The Jamestown Police Department says officers were assisting the home visit at the apartment of Jose Ortiz when they found the dog in a small room with no food or water.
Police say it was obvious the dog had not been properly taken care of.
Officials say Jose was taken into custody and transported to the city jail where he was charged with overdriving, injuring and torturing animals, and failure to provide proper sustenance.
