The Cheektowaga High School Warriors got a big surprise from retired QB Peyton Manning this past week.
The local football team was the winner of Riddell's Smarter Football Program --they won $10,000 for new equipment and got a congratulatory message from Riddell brand ambassador Peyton Manning.
The annual program received more than 700 applications and chose 10 programs that "demonstrated a commitment to a smarter, safer game."
Cheektowaga's coach has done his part to implement safer tactics on and off the field. The student-athletes participate in player safety clinics, sports nutrition seminars, and planning weekly team dinners to promotes family and commitment.
