The Red Cross is assisting two people and their pets after a house fire in Cheektowaga.
Crews from six different fire companies responded to the fire on Verdun Place on Monday afternoon to find neighbors fighting the flames.
One firefighter was cut while battling the fire, but injuries were not serious.
All residents and four pets were able to make it out safely.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
