CSX has finished an investigation into a woman who was struck and killed by a CSX train in Blasdell late Monday night, a representative from CSX says.
The chief of the Blasdell Volunteer Fire Department told 7 Eyewitness News a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision happened at around 10:30 p.m. at the Lake Avenue CSX railroad crossing.
The 87 car freight train was on its way to Syracuse from Willard, Ohio.
CSX has video from the front of the train. They say they have shared information from the video with Hamburg police, but have not shared the actual video. A spokesperson could not say what was on the video.
A spokesperson says the train was hauling flour and telephone poles.
According to CSX, no crew members were hurt, and train operations have started up again.
The CSX spokesperson tells 7 Eyewitness News, Hamburg Police are leading the investigation into how the woman was killed.
