Ice fishers are reminded to be cautious and make sure the surface is completely frozen and safe before fishing.
Village of LeRoy Police Department says it responded to a report of people falling through the ice on Wolcott Street. When they arrived they did not find anyone, but did see fishing equipment.
Fire crews checked the water and confirmed no one was there.
According to witnesses, two people were on the ice fishing when one fell through the ice. He was able to get himself out of the water, and both people left the area in a car.
Police say the two people involved contacted law enforcement and both are okay.
At the time of the call, the water was mostly ice free, according to police.
