The expansion of Perks Cafe represents just how much Western New Yorkers support local business.

Locally owned Perks Cafe is expanding to a second location on Main Street and Goodell Street, 2000 square feet larger than its Elmwood location. The cafe previously was located downtown on Ellicott and is returning to the area with a large following of customers.

The inviting space opened on January 2nd, providing another grab and go option for people who work downtown and people at the new medical campus just blocks away.

"When we were down here the first time, downtown just wasn't quite there yet," says Julie Leone, Director of Operations and Marketing. That's why the cafe signed a lease for a space on Elmwood and Bryant.

"Then, the timing was really perfect. Women and Children's closed, we signed a lease here (downtown) and Oishei opened so we're following our customers," says Leone.

The new location at 777 Main Street is planning to serve beer and wine to customers in the near future, creating a destination space for people outside of work hours and on weekends.
