Pegula Sports and Entertainment and the City of Rochester have reached a temporary agreement for PSE to become the interim management firm of the Blue Cross Arena.

The temporary agreement is scheduled to be voted upon by the Rochester City Council on July 24, the agreement is set to begin Aug. 1 and run though Dec. 31.

According to PSE officials, they will work with the Mayor of Rochester, Lovely Warren, and her staff to reach a long term agreement.

“This is just the next step in Terry and Kim Pegula’s commitment to the region,” said PSE Chief Operating Officer Bruce Popko. “It began with the purchase of the Amerks, continued with the extension of Bills camp at Fisher, and now extends to the future of Blue Cross Arena. This facility can be a major accelerator for downtown Rochester, and we will work diligently with Mayor Warren and her staff to transform it into a first-class attraction along the Genesee River that will benefit the entire city.”

The City of Rochester could not be reached for comment.
