Pedestrian struck by car across from UB South

A young man was hit by a car Thursday evening while crossing the street across from the South Campus of the University at Buffalo.

It happened around 6 p.m. on Niagara Falls Boulevard at Main Street.

According to a witness, a 20-year-old man was trying to cross the Boulevard going northbound. He was crossing between cars and ran into the path of a Chevy Equinox that was turning onto the Boulevard from Main Street.

Police say the driver of the Equinox was a 52-year-old woman.

The young man was transported to the Erie County Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition in the trauma intensive care unit.
