A two-way traffic pattern went into effect for commuters along Pearl Street overnight Friday.
The permanent change affects traffic on the road between W. Tupper Street and Lower Terrace.
"What this is going to do is allow for an increase in accessibility to these areas as Downtown develops," said Public Works Commissioner Steven Stepniak.
The city has posted signs and flash board along the new traffic pattern to help commuters adjust to the change.
