Patty Parete memorial plaque defaced

A memorial plaque for late Buffalo Police Officer Patty Parete has been vandalized.

The plaque is located in a small park off of Whitney Place, near where Officer Parete was shot and paralyzed back in December 2006.

Buffalo Police say they are investigating.

Parete was shot when she and her partner were responding to a call about a fight at a convenience store. She suffered a spinal injury and became paralyzed from the neck down.

Parete died in 2013 from complications from her injuries.
