One thousand job seekers, that's how many people attend Panasonic's job fair, Wednesday night at Buffalo's Career and Training Center. So many people, the line went out the door and around the block.

They're trying to work at the massive manufacturing plant constructed at Riverbend that will soon be producing parts for solar panels. It’s run by Tesla’s Solar City. Production will begin in October. Panasonic will be making solar cells for panels and solar shingles for roofs.

In August, 150 workers from Buffalo will be hired. By next March, 300 will be hired.

More jobs coming to western New York include, the new Whole Foods in Amherst. Its expected to open in September. Also, Amazon could soon be opening a warehouse in Lancaster. That could bring in as many as 500 jobs.
