Financial help is on the way for homeowners affected by this month's massive fire at the former Bethlehem Steel site in Lackawanna.

A spokesperson for Great Lakes Industrial Development, the current owner of the property, tells 7 Eyewitness News the company is setting up a process to help homeowners cover some of the clean-up costs.

Homeowners can call 207-8685 to inquire about submitting a claim.

A letter will also be mailed to nearby residents soon explaining the process.

The four-alarm fire dropped soot and ash on the cars and homes of dozens of homes in Bethlehem Park, the working-class neighborhood that sits in the shadow of the sprawling former steel site.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
