The driver who triggered a crash that was caught-on-camera Monday night outside our WKBW studios had overdosed on drugs just moments before.
Security video shows a a truck hitting another car from behind on Church Street near the on-ramp to the I-190 and then rolled onto its side just before 7:40 p.m.
According to Buffalo police investigators, the driver that caused the accident overdosed and lost control of his vehicle.
Officers say emergency responders used Narcan at the scene. The driver was taken to Erie County Medical Center.
The driver who was hit was taken to Mercy Hospital in South Buffalo for non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators are waiting for toxicology reports. Charges have no yet been filed.
Police are not releasing the name of either driver at this time.
