State Police arrested over 110 people for DWI over Super Bowl Weekend as part of a STOP DWI Enforcement Campaign.
Troopers issued a total of 4,098 tickets during the weekend, including speeding, distracted driving, seatbelt violations and Move Over Law violations.
State Police increase patrols and set up sobriety checkpoints from 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 4 through 4 a.m. Monday, February 6.
Across the state, 1,424 tickets were issued for speeding, 61 for distracted driving, 80 for seatbelt violations and 43 for Move Over Law violations. Within Western New York, a total of 310 tickets and other violations were issued:
- 5 DWI arrests
- 107 speeding tickets
- 8 distracted driving tickets
- 8 child restraint/seat belt tickets
- 1 Move Over Law violation
