A medical condition may have caused a 67-year-old Holley man to lose control of the dump truck he was driving, causing property damage, according to first responders.
Douglas M. Howe was driving on East Main Street when he tried to make a three-point turn in the 10-wheeler truck he was driving. In the middle of his turn, Howe drove up onto the curb, snapping branches off of a tree.
Howe then turned the truck around, driving up onto the opposite curb, knocking down a utility pole and smashing through a cobblestone wall, officials said.
Then, he backed up, and kept driving down East Main Street until he jumped the curb in front of the Wolcott Street School and plowed into two construction trailers.
LeRoy Ambulance took Howe to UMMC to treat him for the condition that they say might have caused the crash, as well as a few minor injuries.
No charges have been filed at this time.
