Today Town Supervisor Patrick Keem and NYS Assemblyman Mickey Kearns announced $325,000 in state funding for the Orchard Park Community Center at Brush Mountain Park.

The center will merge the existing youth and senior programs into one facility, and will allow for more programs for all ages.

Reps say the project will be completed in 4 phases.

Phase 1 will include the senior center and community center, costing about $16 million. Phase 2 will include the gym and cost about $2.5 million. Phase 3 includes the pool and splash pad, totaling about $7 million, and phase 4 will include the field house at $6 million. In total the Community Activity Center is expected to cost about $32 million.

The facility has become a priority as the town's population has nearly doubled over the past 50 years.
