Photos of Jamie Tomilo‘s son, Colby take her back to the day he was born. He was nine weeks premature and weighed just 4 lbs 9 oz.

“It was...it was scary,” she said.

Tomilo credits breastfeeding her son with his good health today. That's why she created live-latch-love. It's a Facebook support group for breastfeeding moms.

“Once you get passed that post-partum stage, the resources become less and less,” she said.

She's also organizing the "Global Big Latch On" in Buffalo. The event is taking place August 4th in Delaware Park. It’s part of a worldwide initiative to celebrate, promote, and support breastfeeding. “I booked food trucks and a DJ, and there's activities and a vendor table, discount tickets to the Buffalo Zoo for afterwards,” Tomilo explained.

It runs from 9am to 2pm.
