Head of the Buffalo Police K-9 unit, Lieutenant Sal Losi, will visit Forest Elementary and Maple East Elementary schools with K-9 officer Shield today at 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
Shield was the canine partner of the late Officer Craig Lehner.
The visits will be held in the school auditoriums.
Lt. Losi's wife is a kindergarten teacher at Forest, and his step-daughter is a teacher at Maple East. Every year, Lt. Losi visits local classrooms to talk to students about his job as a K-9 police officer.
He is currently taking care of Shield.
