Posted

With more than 90,000 people still without power in the Northeast, NYSEG continues its restoration efforts after heavy snow and falling trees wiped out gas and electricity.

In a release, NYSEG says it "expects to have more than 90% of customers affected by the storm restored by tonight at 11:45 p.m. in the Elmira, Geneva, Binghamton, Ithaca, Hornell, Lancaster, Mechanicville, and Oneonta divisions."

More than 1,000 NYSEG crews and contractors are expected to continue working 17 hours shifts to ensure all power is restored to customers.
