Just days after an historic notification by the CDC warning of the potential dangers of traveling to the Miami area, Governor Cuomo has released an aggressive campaign to fight Zika here in New York.
A post to twitter urges New Yorkers to call the Zika hotline to request free larvacide tablets.
Homeowners are urged to place these tablets in mosquito breeding grounds, like standing water.
These steps by New York come just one day after the CDC issued a travel warning advising pregnant women not to travel to a neighborhood north of Miami, where 14 people have been infected with Zika after being bitten by mosquitoes.
You can learn more about Zika and get the free tablets by calling the New York state's hotline at 1-888-364-4723.
