Town of Tonawanda Police need help finding the person who hit and killed an elderly pedestrian in November.

Police say 73-year-old James Hemperly was hit around 7:30 a.m. on November 4 while crossing the street near Delaware Road and Liston Street.

People passing by in their cars say they noticed the man writhing in the street and called police.

Officers say Hemperly was taken to the hospital and died on December 5.

Police say the car that hit the man was most likely driving south on Delaware Road and probably has damage to the passenger side front or side of the car.

Anyone with information that may help police locate the hit-and-run suspect is asked to call the Town of Tonawanda Police confidential tip line at 879-6606.
