Nightly lane closures on I-290 begin Tuesday

Drivers will face nightly lane closures on a portion of Interstate 290 in the Town of Tonawanda beginning Tuesday night.

Crews will be completing bridge maintenance on the I-290 bridges over Parker Boulevard.

There will be nightly lane closures on I-290 westbound between Exit 3, US Route 62 (Niagara Falls Boulevard), and Exit 2 NY Route 384 (Delaware Avenue) from Tuesday, September 6, until Friday, September 9.

The lane closures will take place from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning

 These nightly lane closures will switch to I-290 eastbound the following week. 

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.  In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver's license.
