Falls fatal shooting heading to a grand jury

Niagara Falls Police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one person dead Friday evening.

Police responded to Packard Court at 9:30 p.m. for reports of shots fired. On scene, officers found 28-year-old Elijah Little dead on the courtyard grass. 

Police say the call had come in from the apartment where the suspected shooter lived. Through dispatch, officers were able to get the parties to come outside unarmed with their hands up and secured in police vehicles.

Detectives are still analyzing physical evidence gathered at the scene as well as reviewing witness statements to piece together the events that unfolded.

According to police, the suspected shooter is scheduled for an interview with his attorney Tuesday morning and the case will be presented to a grand jury by the Niagara County DA's office to determine what, if any, charges will be filed.

At this time, the suspected shooter does not face any charges.
