Niagara County helping businesses that took a financial hit from recent hazmat situation

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) - Niagara County is stepping in to help businesses that lost money during a hazmat situation this week.

Businesses in Niagara Falls that took a financial hit from while crews shut down Military Road should now call the county's Office of Emergency Management to learn how to file insurance claims.

This comes nearly three days after a tanker truck filled with liquid hydrogen crashed into a light pole outside of the Wegmans, spewing hydrogen gas into the air.

Crews took nearly a day to clean up the spill, and businesses reopened Wednesday.
