An NFTA officer is being commended for working to replace a worn pair of boots for a homeless man in Buffalo.

Metro Division Officer Nick Cacciatore was heading home from dinner with his wife when he came across a homeless man walking on Main Street. The man was apparently wearing boots with the bottoms worn out, according to the NFTA.

Cacciatore went to the station house and brought the man a pair of his old boots. After those didn't fit, he purchased a new pair of boots and worked to track down the man several days later at a different station.
