NFTA/Metro is looking to fill 50 to 60 jobs immediately. And the current bus driver pay scale is a whopping $25.49.
Not bad.
Though, dozens of bus driver jobs are open, they require certification.
No fear.
NFTA officials are planning a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) testing on Saturday, September 23rd.
Testing will take place at the North Tonawanda DMV. There, applicants can take the test for free and get a tour of the bus they would ultimately drive.
Officials say those who go through the application process, gain their CDL license, and become NFTA drivers, can make up to $25 an hour and receive retirement and health benefits.
