New York state has completed $35 million in upgrades to residence halls at SUNY campuses throughout the state.
The improvements were finished just in time for the start of fall classes. Governor Andrew Cuomo's office announced them on Tuesday.
The work includes new paint and refurbished dorm bathrooms, lounges and work-out rooms.
Some dorms got new boilers, while others received replacement elevators.
Dorms at the University of Buffalo received one of the more unusual upgrades: a system that allows students to check on their laundry and reserve a washing machine using their smartphone.
The work was funded with residence hall fees.
