According to a recent study done by Care.com, New York State was ranked as the 3rd worst state to grow old in followed by Indiana and West Virginia as the worst.
Care.com looked at cost of living and what it called "quality of life" to determine its rankings.
New York was ranked so low due to expensive senior care, and facilities ranked second last when looking at reviews submitted to Care.com.
Utah topped the list of best places to grow old in, followed by Iowa, South Carolina, Washington, and Nebraska.
The study used 150,000 reviews from the website in addition to the Genworth's 2016 Cost of Living Survey, The Gallup Healthways Well-Being Index, and the Long-term Services and Supports State scorecard.
