New restaurant to showcase local favorites with a twist

Posted

Downtown Buffalo is getting a new restaurant.

Patina 250 will open Wednesday in the new Delaware North building located at the corner of Delaware Avenue and Chippewa Street.

The restaurant's Executive Chef, Homer Ford, is a Western New York native who spent several years working as the Executive Chef of Isabella's in New York City.

His menu at Patina 250 will feature local ingredients and twists on some of the local classics. For example, the "Pastrami on Weck" is Ford's version of the famous sandwich on a kummelweck roll, and the "Crispy Cauliflower" provide a vegetarian-friendly take on chicken wings.

Ford said he always planned to come home to Buffalo with his wife, Raven.

"We met here when I first started cooking, Ford said. "Cooking is what makes me happiest, and I'm excited to be back home to cook for the city I love."

Patina 250 and the adjacent grab-and-go restaurant next door are the first restaurants to open under Delaware North and its dining subsidiary Patina Restaurant Group.
