Governor Andrew Cuomo says it's done. A new ramp and roundabout carrying traffic from Porter Avenue right to the Peace Bridge Plaza will officially open this coming Tuesday.
It's all part of a $57 million project to revamp the U.S. side of the bridge plaza.
"This milestone is a victory for the entire region that will help improve access and traffic flow on the American side of the bridge," Governor Cuomo said.
It will now take crews around 10 days to make the switch. Baird Drive will now close as work begins to restore the historic Front Park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.
